Your Body's Wisdom- Autonomic Nervous System


The human body has a nervous system that is constantly scanning for threat/safety in ourself, environments and between others.

This info graph explains the different states of your autonomic nervous system. The three main states are Relaxed, Immobilized or Mobilized. The blended states are mixes of the each of the main three. When our body is in the states, there are common physiological responses that occur and when looked at with curiosity we can learn to work towards self regulation and co regulation.

During therapy sessions at Authentic Self Therapy, these states will begin to be identified and explored in a welcoming environment at a pace that feels safe for you.
